Health Benefits Overview

Healthcare

VDOT employees participate in the Commonwealth of Virginia Employee Benefits Program. This program includes medical, dental, prescription drug, mental health coverage and a flexible benefit program. 

Disability

VDOT provides short- and long-term disability benefits at no cost. There's a one-year waiting period for new hires and re-hires. This program is administered by the Virginia Retirement System (VRS).
