I-64 Charlottesville Safety Rest Areas To Use Temporary Restroom Facilities
Previously scheduled maintenance project has been accelerated to begin Friday, April 1; Rest areas will remain open at all times, with temporary restrooms through September 2023
RICHMOND, Va. – Restroom facilities at the Interstate 64 Eastbound and Westbound Charlottesville Safety Rest Areas in Albemarle County will undergo extended maintenance starting Friday, April 1, requiring the use of temporary restroom facilities at both rest areas through September 2023.

WINTER WEATHER PREPARATIONS CONTINUE
Crews stand ready; Area motorists should stay off roads during storm
RICHMOND, Va. – Virginia Department of Transportation crews are monitoring road conditions and are prepared to respond to the winter weather impacting the Commonwealth. Snow is expected to continue into the late afternoon rush hour and into Saturday, with the greatest impact expected along the Eastern Shore. Reduced visibility and an increased potential for downed trees and power lines will make travel hazardous.

VDOT PREPARES FOR WEEKEND WINTER WEATHER
Snow to impact roads statewide
RICHMOND, Va. – The Virginia Department of Transportation has begun mobilizing to pre-treat roadways and prepare crews and equipment for weekend winter weather. The incoming weather system will impact the Commonwealth beginning in the western portion of the state Friday morning and will move east, arriving in the Hampton Roads region Friday evening.
