In Design: Interstate 77 Exit 41 Pepper's Ferry Road (Wythe County)

The proposed Interstate 77 exit 41 (Peppers Ferry Road) interchange improvement project in Wythe County is currently being designed. The project will extend the I-77 northbound deceleration lane and reconfigure and reconstruct both the I-77 northbound exit 41 loop ramp and entrance ramp to realign with the current connection to Nye Road at Peppers Ferry Road. The project involves a change and/or break in limited access control. 

The project is part of the Interstate 81 Corridor Improvement Program, which identified areas of congestion and safety along the corridor. 

Virtual and in-person public meetings for the project were held mid-July 2021. 

Benefits 

The I-77 exit 41 interchange improvements will improve traffic flow and minimize congestion at the interchange.
