Recently Completed: Route 11 and 107 Intersection Improvements in the Town of Chilhowie (Smyth County)

The Route 11/107 intersection improvement project in the Chilhowie area of Smyth County began fall 2021 and wrapped up July 2022.

The primary purpose of the project is to lessen congestion and enhance safety by improving the intersection of U.S. Route 11 and Route 107 in the Chilhowie area of Smyth County. The project included adding a left turn lane from Route 107 north and southbound onto Route 11 and radius improvements at the intersection that will provide additional space for large trucks to turn at the intersection. Also, a left turn lane was added onto northbound Route 107 into the Food City shopping center.
