Recently Completed: Route 602 (Rogues Road), Fauquier County

The reconstruction of Route 602 (Rogues Road) from Route 9956 (Academic Avenue) to 0.36 mile north in Fauquier County and reopened the road to traffic on Aug. 15, 2023.

With this project, VDOT added a northbound left-turn lane from Route 602 to Route 652 (Kennedy Road) to improve motorists' safety and traffic flow. To enhance safety and access for pedestrians and bicyclists, a 10-foot-wide shared use path from Grapewood Drive to Kennedy Road and signal modifications were made to accommodate a pedestrian crossing at Academic Drive.

The project began in May 2022 and was completed on-time by VDOT's contractor.

The project improves safety and traffic flow near Kettle Run High School and Greenville Elementary School in Fauquier County.
