Design work has begun on the proposed realignment of the northernmost of two sharp curves along Route 601 (Flat Run Road). The project will realign the road slightly to the west to reduce the angle of the curve.
The $1.4 million project is funded through the SMART SCALE program and is expected to reduce crashes.
