Whether you are driving a tractor-trailer or a recreational vehicle, there are now 45 parking spaces for trucks and other large vehicles to safely park and take a break along I-95 between the Fredericksburg and Richmond areas.
The $4.2 million project more than doubled the existing truck parking area, which had 20 spaces before the project.
In addition to the 45 truck parking spaces, the rest area offers 55 parking spaces for cars and 4 handicapped-accessible parking spaces. It is one of Virginia's most heavily-visited rest areas, with an average of just under 4,000 visitors a day.
Benefits
- Additional parking provides a safe, convenient location for drivers of trucks and large vehicles to rest along the I-95 southbound corridor.
- This project encourages these vehicles to be parked in designated parking spaces, which keeps interstate shoulders free for emergencies.
