Proposed: Route 1208 (Greate Road) Sidewalk Project

This proposed project will construct approximately 100 feet of sidewalk in the vicinity of the Gloucester Point Beach Park building, and approximately 1,550 feet of sidewalk from the vicinity of the entrance drive of Watermen’s Hall on the Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS) campus, extending along the east side of Route 1208 to its intersection with Lafayette Heights Drive. One additional segment of sidewalk is proposed within the existing right of way for the south side of Lafayette Heights Drive, between Route 1208 and Route 17, for a distance of approximately 326 feet. The sidewalk is planned to be approximately 6 feet wide. Stormwater drainage structures, signs, and, pavement markings are also a part of this project.
