In Design: Route 17 Business/Main Street Bicycle and Pedestrian Improvements

This project will improve bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure along Route 17 Business/Main Street. It’s based on the recommendations described in the Gloucester County Business 17 Corridor Planning Study dated May 10, 2013 prepared for VDOT by HNTB Corporation. The 10-foot wide shared use path will provide a safe facility for multiple users and support the areas growing urban development pattern. 

Benefits 

VDOT is currently finalizing design for a previously awarded SMART Scale project at the intersection of Route 17 Business/Route 3/Route 14 improving the capacity and safety of the intersection. This project will extend those improvements.
