Coming Soon: Route 360 and Route 624 (Newland Road) Intersection Improvements

SMART SCALE Dashboard

Cost and schedule ►

A proposed intersection improvement project would modify the Route 360 and Route 624 (Newland Road) intersection in Richmond County to a Restricted Crossing U-Turn (RCUT) to enhance safety at the intersection.

The purpose of the project is to reduce the risk of crashes by minimizing the number of conflict points or locations where vehicle paths intersect.

The proposed design would:

  • Close the existing crossover on Route 360 west of Newland Road
  • At the existing crossover at the intersection of Route 360 and Newland Road, signs would be installed to prohibit left turns from westbound Route 360
  • A right turn lane would be added on Route 360 westbound at Newland Road
  • Also, a new crossover would be added on Route 360 east of Newland Road for westbound Route 360 traffic to make a U-turn and travel eastbound
