Recently Completed: Route 625 (Prim Road) Bridge Repair

The project will close a portion of Route 625 (Prim Road) in King George County for approximately six weeks to improve the bridge over Mattox Creek.

VDOT crews will replace the bridge’s steel beams and install a new wooden deck and bridge rail.

During construction, drivers will be detoured approximately nine miles using the following routes:

  • Route 625 (Prim Road) 
  • Route 629 (Round Hill Road)
  • Route 3 (Kings Highway)
  • Route 628 (Stoney Knoll Road)

Construction activity will be underway from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays.

According to a recent VDOT traffic count, approximately 124 vehicles use this portion of Prim Road daily. The 18-foot-long bridge was built in 1970.
