A new bridge opened over Beverly Run on Route 665 (Dodge City Road) in Caroline County on Feb. 22, 2022.
The project replaced a 27-foot-long timber deck bridge that was classified as structurally deficient.
The new 45-foot-long concrete slab bridge has concrete abutments and piles. New pavement was installed at the bridge and at the approaches, along with new guardrail.
An average of 221 vehicles a day travel on this portion of Dodge City Road, according to a recent VDOT traffic count.
A Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) state forces bridge crew built the project.
