In Design: Route 311 (Berry Hill Road) Connector Road Extension
Cost and schedule ►
The project involves reconfiguring existing Route 311, Berry Hill Rd, as an extension of the programmed Berry Hill Connector Road by widening approximately 2.3 miles of the existing road from a 2 lane undivided to a 4-lane divided road. The improvements would extend from the intersection of the new Connector Road (currently under construction) south to Oak Hill Rd. The project is needed to accommodate traffic from the developing adjacent Southern Virginia Mega Site at Berry Hill.
Benefits
This project, the extension of the connector road along Berry Hill Road (Rte. 311) to Oak Hill Road, will help promote capacity preservation along US 58 Business by channeling westbound traffic from Danville and points east onto the bypass and the connector road, which serves the developing Southern Virginia Mega Site. An improvement in capacity and reliability on Berry Hill Road will expedite travel movements between US 58/29 Bypass and the Mega Site, thereby making this route more attractive to commercial and non-commercial traffic.
