Proposed: I-495 Northbound Limited Access Control Change near Corporate Ridge in Fairfax County

VDOT is accepting comments regarding a proposed limited access control change along northbound I-495 (Capital Beltway Inner Loop) near the terminus of Corporate Ridge.

The purpose of this requested change in the limited access line is to allow the construction of a sidewalk that will provide a pedestrian connection to the existing 14-foot shared-use trail which connects Magarity Road to the commercial core of Tysons.

The proposed sidewalk requires approval to construct within the existing I-495 limited access line on the private property side of the existing I-495 sound wall. The sidewalk would run parallel to the sound wall and existing drainage facility. 

The proposed lateral shift in limited access is approximately 6.5 to 13.5 feet and occurs over 195 feet. This project will involve changes in limited access control.
