This project is making improvements at the intersection of Franconia Road (Route 644) and Rose Hill Drive.

The improvements include:

  • A traffic signal flashing yellow arrow on westbound Franconia Road 
  • Signalized crosswalk on Franconia Road on the western side of the intersection
  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) pedestrian signal and curb ramp upgrades

At the intersection, Franconia Road averages 15,000 vehicles a day and Rose Hill Drive averages 7,800.

Estimated Costs
Preliminary Engineering: $93,000
Right of Way Acquisition and Utility Relocation: $58,000
Construction: $384,000
Total: $534,000

This project is financed with federal and state Highway Safety Improvement Program funding.

This project aims to improve safety, traffic flow and pedestrian accessibility.
