In Design: I-95 Southbound over Neabsco Creek Bridge Replacement in Prince William County

This project will replace the southbound I-95 general purpose lanes bridge over Neabsco Creek located between the Dale City Car-Only Safety Rest Area South and Cardinal Drive. A new bridge will be constructed due to the estimated rehabilitation cost exceeding 65% of the estimated replacement cost.

The bridge, which averages 74,000 vehicles a day, was built in 1963, repaired in 1977, widened in 1983, repaired in 1991 and repaired again in 2016. An emergency abutment slope repair was done in 2015.

Estimated Project Costs

Preliminary Engineering - $3.8 million
Right of Way Acquisition and Utility Relocation - $190,000
Construction - $47.4 million

Total - $51.4 million

The project is financed with federal and state funding, including State of Good Repair funds used for bridges.
