This project's improvements at the intersection of Newington Road and Cinder Bed Road include:
- Installing a permanent traffic signal with flashing yellow arrows from northbound Newington Road to the Gunston Industrial Park and southbound Newington Road to Cinder Bed Road
- Adding four crosswalks with Accessible Pedestrian Signals (APS)
- Upgrading ADA curb ramps
At the intersection, Newington Road averages 6,100 vehicles a day and Cinder Bed Road averages 2,700.

Preliminary Engineering - $100,000
Right of Way Acquisition and Utility Relocation - $162,000
Construction - $478,000
Total - $740,000
This project is financed with Fairfax County funding and a Locally Funded Agreement with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA).
