Please note: This project was completed in February 2023.

This project upgraded the signalized intersection of Columbia Pike (Route 244) and John Marr Drive. 

The improvements included:

  • Traffic signal and curb ramp upgrades
  • A new crosswalk across Columbia Pike
  • Accessible pedestrian signals

At the intersection, Columbia Pike averages 25,000 vehicles a day and John Marr Drive averages about 8,400.

Estimated Costs
Preliminary Engineering - $70,000
Right of Way Acquisition and Utility Relocation - $190,000
Construction - $440,000
Total - $700,000

This project was financed with federal and state Highway Safety Improvement Program funding.

This project aims to improve safety for pedestrians and drivers.
