In Design: Nottoway - Intersection Improvements at Route 460 (E. Colonial Trail Highway) and Lewiston Plank Road (Route 723)

The proposed project will add left turn restrictions at the intersection of Route 460 (E. Colonial Trail Highway) and Lewiston Plank Road (Route 723) to function as a restricted crossing U-turn (RCUT) intersection. Left turns will be restricted for Lewiston Plank Road northbound traffic onto Route 460, and Route 460 eastbound traffic onto Lewiston Plank Road. Respective turning movements will be relocated to the U-turn east of the intersection.

Benefits 

Proposed improvements will increase safety by implementing turn restrictions at the intersection to eliminate unsafe crossing in the median between eastbound and westbound Route 460.
