Interstate 81 Frontage Road Study survey available during month of July (Washington County)
Survey is available at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/81FrontageRoad

BRISTOL – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has created a survey to gain feedback for an on-going I-81 frontage road study.

VDOT is looking at the possibility of tying together current connections to create a frontage road network between Bristol and Abingdon. The survey is another tool being used to gain additional public feedback about this idea.

The public is encouraged to participate with the online survey by visiting the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/81FrontageRoad.

VDOT held two public information meetings for the study in the first half of 2019, giving citizens opportunities to review preliminary study findings, frontage road alignment options, intersection connections, and provide comments that will assist localities and VDOT in identifying and developing a frontage road system that will maintain the safe and efficient movement of people and goods along I-81 between Bristol and Abingdon. Questions regarding the survey or the study should be directed to Mr. Blake Ailor, Project Manager, 870 Bonham Road, Bristol, Virginia 24201. Or, email comments to bristolinfo@vdot.virginia.gov, referencing “I-81 Frontage Road Study Bristol/Abingdon” in the email subject line.  (END)
