VDOT sets public hearing for two projects: Progress Park Connector, Interstate 77 exit 41 improvements

BRISTOL—This week, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold a design public meeting for two projects in Wythe County: construction of the Progress Park Connector and the Interstate 77 exit 41 (Peppers Ferry Road) intersection improvement project.

The open house format public meetings will take place in tandem Thursday, July 15 from 4 – 6 p.m. at Wytheville Meeting Center, located at 333 Community Boulevard in Wytheville. VDOT will follow all COVID-19 precautions to ensure the health and safety of attendees. The project websites will include the same information, materials and presentations available at the public hearing:

Additionally, the project will extend the I-77 northbound deceleration lane.
The project is part of the Interstate 81 Corridor Improvement Program, which identified areas of congestion and safety along I-81 as well as areas within close proximity that impact the corridor.
