New I-81 Exit 17 Northbound On Ramp Scheduled to Open August 12
BRISTOL – Weather permitting, the newly constructed I-81 exit 17 northbound on ramp will open to traffic Saturday morning (August 12). Should rain impact efforts, the ramp opening will occur in the coming days.
Motorists should be alert to changes in traffic pattern as well as newly operating traffic signals.
When the ramp opens, traffic from the Town of Abingdon on Route 75 will use the right lane to access the northbound I-81 on ramp. Traffic traveling toward Abingdon on Route 75 will access northbound I-81 by making a left turn at the new traffic signal at the bottom of the new ramp.
