SCHOOL BUS ROAD REALIGNMENT PROJECTS STARTS JAN. 4
Project will align road with Route 625 (Chalk Level Road), add turn lanes on Route 22/208
CULPEPER — Motorists traveling on Route 22/208 (Davis Highway) and Route 767 (School Bus Road) in Louisa County will notice construction activity starting Jan. 4 as a project begins to realign Route 767.
The existing configuration consists of two adjacent stop controlled T-intersections with no turn lanes on Route 22/208.
Under a $2.6 million construction contract, VDOT contractor Chemung Contracting Corp. of Mitchells will relocate Route 767 to align with Route 625 (Chalk Level Road) across Route 22/208 and make associated safety improvements at the intersection including adding turn lanes and paved shoulders.
Motorists should be alert for crews and construction vehicles near the travel lanes. As construction progresses, motorists should expect lane shifts and flagging operations on weekdays.
The safety improvement project will be complete by December 15, 2021.
