OVERNIGHT REFREEZE COULD IMPACT MORNING COMMUTE
Drivers should use caution Thursday morning
CULPEPER — A refreeze could make driving conditions hazardous tomorrow morning in parts of the Culpeper District. Wednesday’s wintry mix soaked much of the area, and once temperatures drop tonight, ice could form on roads and interstates, especially at higher elevations.
Virginia Department of Transportation crews will be out in the early morning hours patrolling area roadways to detect and treat trouble spots. Remember, if the road looks wet, it’s probably ice.
Please be overly cautious on bridges, ramps, overpasses and intersections which are first to freeze over. Also use caution on sidewalks, driveways, and outside stairways to avoid slips and falls.
Prior to travel, motorists should visit 511virginia.org, call 511 or check the 511 Virginia mobile app for up-to-date information on road and traffic conditions.
Local updates about conditions in VDOT’s Culpeper District are posted to Twitter.com/VaDOTCulp.
