RT. 667 IN ALBEMARLE CO. OPEN AFTER BRIDGE REPLACEMENT
New Catterton Road structure will carry all legal weight vehicles

CULPEPER — The new box culvert over Piney Creek on Route 667 (Catterton Road) is now open to traffic. The 1932-era structure closed in August so contractors with the Virginia Department of Transportation could replace it.

Catterton Road is located about 10 miles northwest of Charlottesville in Free Union and the latest VDOT traffic data shows it carries about 180 vehicles daily. The new box culvert is open to all legal loads and the project cost about $900,000.

Culpeper District updates are on the district’s Facebook page and the district’s Twitter account, @VaDOTCulp. For questions or to report hazardous road conditions, the public should contact VDOT’s 24-hour Customer Service Center by visiting my.vdot.virginia.gov or calling 800-FOR-ROAD (367-7623).

Current traffic conditions, VDOT’s statewide network of traffic cameras and other real-time travel information is on the 511Virginia website. That information is also available on the free VDOT 511 mobile app or by calling 511 from any phone in Virginia.
