VDOT News - Fredericksburg

FREDERICKSBURG – The public is invited to attend a public meeting in January to learn more about a project to build additional Interstate 95 northbound lanes parallel to the I-95 northbound general purpose lanes in the Fredericksburg area. 

A citizen information meeting will be held:

Stop by anytime between 5-7 p.m. to review displays, proposed design plans, and discuss questions with Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) staff.

A brief presentation will be delivered at 5:30 p.m.

Written and oral comments on the project will be accepted at the public meeting, and afterward through Friday, Feb. 15, 2019.

Project Background 

The I-95 Northbound Rappahannock River Crossing project seeks to reduce northbound I-95 congestion between the Exit 130 and Exit 133 interchanges. 

The new northbound crossing will add additional lanes parallel to the general purpose lanes on I-95 from just south of Exit 130/Route 3 in Fredericksburg to just north of Exit 133/Route 17 in Stafford.
