REMINDER: OVERNIGHT LANE CLOSURES ON DOWNING BRIDGE STARTS SUNDAY, AUG. 11-25
Route 360 over the Rappahannock River at Tappahannock will be reduced to a single lane each evening for spot painting and concrete repairs

AUG. 23, 2019 UPDATEThis work has been extended through the evening of Thursday, Aug. 29. Travelers can expect brief overnight delays on Route 360 crossing the Downing Bridge as crews complete spot painting and concrete repairs.

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Route 360 over the Rappahannock River in the Tappahannock area will be reduced to a single lane overnight seven days a week from Sunday, Aug. 11 through Sunday, Aug. 25. 

Travelers can expect lane closures and brief delays on Downing Bridge between Richmond County and the Town of Tappahannock between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. nightly, weather permitting. 

Automated flagging devices will direct one-way, alternating traffic through the work zone, controlled by members of a flagging crew. 

Crews will be performing spot painting and concrete repairs underneath the bridge.

Message boards are posted at both bridge approaches to alert travelers to this upcoming work and potential travel delays.
