ROUTE 622 (DIRT BRIDGE ROAD) NOW OPEN IN MIDDLESEX COUNTY
Crews completed emergency repairs today to restore road to through traffic between Route 3 (Greys Point Road) and Regent Road

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Route 622 (Dirt Bridge Road) in Middlesex County reopened to through traffic today between Route 3 (Greys Point Road) and Route 623 (Regent Road) after Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) crews finished an emergency repair project.

Dirt Bridge Road closed to through traffic on April 4, 2019, due to a drainage pipe failure. Crews installed two new concrete drainage pipes. Each pipe is 40 feet long, and measures 48 inches in diameter. New pipe headwalls were also installed.

Motorists will encounter a gravel travel surface in the work zone on a temporary basis. Crews will return within the next two weeks to pave the work zone area.

An average of 3,300 vehicles a day travel on Dirt Bridge Road between Route 3 and Regent Road.
