DETOUR ON ROUTE 648 (BLOCK HOUSE ROAD) MARCH 23-27 IN SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY
Through traffic will be detoured from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily over five consecutive days to allows crews to improve bridge over the Ta River
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Route 648 (Block House Road) in Spotsylvania County will close to through traffic at the Ta River next week during daytime hours for a bridge rehabilitation project.
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) state forces bridge crew will replace the deck of the existing bridge to improve its condition.
Block House Road will be closed to through traffic at the bridge from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily from Monday, March 23 through Friday, March 27, weather permitting. The road will be open to through traffic at all other times.
Signs will be posted to guide motorists along the recommended detour route:
- Route 738 (Partlow Road)
- Route 208 (Courthouse Road)
Message boards are posted to notify travelers of the upcoming work zone and detour.
Approximately 1,400 vehicles a day travel on Block House Road, according to a VDOT traffic count.
