SEVERAL ROADS IN WESTMORELAND COUNTY REMAIN CLOSED THIS WEEKEND
VDOT crews are repairing damage following intense rain and flooding Thursday

FREDERICKSBURG, Va.  Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) crews will continue work this weekend in Westmoreland County to repair several state-maintained secondary roads that remain closed following damage from intense rainfall and flooding on Thursday evening.

The following secondary roads remain closed to through traffic in Westmoreland:

  • Route 625 (Twiford Road)
  • Route 632 (New Monrovia Road)
  • Route 637 (Leedstown Road)
  • Route 639 (Winter Harbor Road)
  • Route 678 (Harts Landing Road)

Additionally, a portion of Route 347 in Westmoreland State Park is reduced to a single travel lane, but the road remains open to traffic. A project to repair this location is planned and specific work dates will be announced for fall 2020.

Crews will continue repairing minor road shoulder and pavement damage over the weekend to reopen roads as soon as possible.
