I-95 NORTHBOUND RAMPS AT EXIT 104 (ROUTE 207) IN CAROLINE COUNTY WILL CLOSE OVERNIGHT FOR PAVING
Northbound travelers should use exit 110 (Route 639) or most convenient alternate route to reach Route 207 between 9 p.m. Thursday, June 10 until 5 a.m. Friday, June 11
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Overnight travelers should anticipate lane and ramp closures scheduled on Interstate 95 northbound for the next few weeks in Caroline County for milling and paving.
In May, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) began milling and paving the three general purpose lanes from north of exit 98 (Doswell), at mile marker 101 to mile marker 108, which is near the I-95 Northbound Safety Rest Area and Welcome Center.
Starting at 9 p.m. tomorrow night, June 10, I-95 northbound will be reduced to a single lane for the paving work. Crews will also close the on- and off-ramps at exit 104 (Route 207/Rogers Clark Boulevard).
Northbound travelers seeking Route 207 are advised to use exit 110 (Route 639/Ladysmith Road) to I-95 southbound then use the southbound ramps to access Route 207 as the recommended detour. Drivers should use the most convenient alternate route to Route 207 depending on their destination.
The ramps will remain closed at exit 104 until 5 a.m. Friday, June 11.
I-95 travelers should anticipate overnight lane closures and potential delays in this area through late June 2021 to complete the work.
Weather permitting, the following lane and ramp closures are scheduled next week on I-95 northbound near exit 104:
Sunday, June 13 - Friday, June 18
• 9 p.m. – Double lane closures, on- and off ramps close with detour in place
• 5 a.m. – All lanes and ramps reopen
Motorists should be alert for a temporary, rough travel surface in milled areas.
Message boards will provide advance notice of the ramp closures and detour.
Updated work schedules will be shared through VDOT’s Fredericksburg District Twitter account and Fredericksburg District Facebook page. It will also be included in the weekly lane closure list, Hot Spots, which is posted on Friday afternoons to VDOT’s Travel Center page.
