IMPROVE I-95 CONSTRUCTION IN FULL SWING IN SPRING
Expect daytime and overnight lane closures on I-95 this week starting tonight, April 19 through early Saturday, April 24
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Drivers should anticipate daytime and overnight lane closures on Interstate 95 in the Fredericksburg area with Improve 95 program construction in full swing.
Multiple work zones are scheduled on I-95 northbound and southbound this week, including double lane closures in Stafford County between Exit 133 (Route 17) and Exit 136 (Centreport Parkway) to patch potholes.
Weather permitting, the following lane closures are set to start tonight, April 19 through early Saturday, April 24:
I-95 Northbound
Monday, April 19 – Tuesday, April 20
• Exit 133 (Route 17) to Exit 136 (Centreport Parkway)
o 9 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. – Single lane closure
o 10 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. – Double lane closure for pothole repair
o 4:30 a.m. – All lanes open
• Exit 140 (Route 630/Courthouse Road) to Exit 143 (Route 610/Garrisonville Road)
o 9 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. – Mobile operation with single lane closure
• Exit 140 (Route 630) Courthouse Road Entrance & Exit Ramps
o 9 p.m. – 5 a.m. – Mobile operation for line striping
• Exit 143 (Route 610) Garrisonville Road Entrance & Exit Ramps
o 9 p.m. – 5 a.m. – Mobile operation for line striping
Tuesday, April 20 – Thursday, April 22
• Exit 133 (Route 17) to Exit 136 (Centreport Parkway)
o 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. – Single lane closure
o 9 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. – Single lane closure
• Exit 140 (Route 630) Courthouse Road Entrance & Exit Ramps
o 9 p.m. – 5 a.m. – Mobile operation for line striping
• Exit 143 (Route 610) Garrisonville Road Entrance & Exit Ramps
o 9 p.m. – 5 a.m. – Mobile operation for line striping
• Exit 148 (Quantico)
o 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. – Single lane closure
Friday, April 23
• Exit 133 (Route 17) to Exit 136 (Centreport Parkway)
o Midnight – 4:30 a.m. – Single lane closure
• Exit 148 (Quantico)
o Midnight – 4:30 a.m. – Single lane closure

• Exit 136 (Centreport Parkway) to Exit 133 (Route 17)
o 9 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. – Single lane closure
o 10 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. – Double lane closure for pothole repair

• Aquia Creek Bridge (Mile Marker 145) Travel Lanes
o 9 p.m. – 5 a.m. – Mobile operation for line striping

o 9 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. – Mobile operation for line striping
Thursday, April 22 – Friday, April 23
• Exit 136 (Centreport Parkway) to Exit 133 (Route 17)
o 9 p.m. – 6 a.m. – Single lane closure
Friday, April 23 – Saturday, April 24
• Exit 136 (Centreport Parkway) to Exit 133 (Route 17)
o 10 p.m. – 7 a.m. – Single lane closure
Virginia State Police will assist with traffic control.
