EXPECT DAYTIME DELAYS ON I-95 IN FREDERICKSBURG AREA FOR BRIDGE INSPECTIONS THIS WEEK
Single lane closures are scheduled to inspect I-95 bridges over Rappahannock River
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Virginia Department of Transportation has scheduled daytime single lane closures to inspect the Interstate 95 bridges over the Rappahannock River, which connect the City of Fredericksburg and Stafford County.
Starting today, Oct. 3, single lane closures are scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on I-95 northbound at the bridge, located at mile marker 132.
Motorists traveling can expect travel delays at midday in the Fredericksburg area each day through Friday, Oct. 7.
These routine bridge inspections must occur during the daylight hours to safely perform the work.
Weather permitting, the following lane closures will occur on I-95 northbound and southbound:
Monday, Oct. 3 – Tuesday, Oct. 4
- 9:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. Alternating, single lane closures on I-95 northbound bridge
Wednesday, Oct. 5 – Thursday, Oct. 6
- 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. – Alternating, single lane closures on I-95 southbound local lanes bridge
Friday, Oct. 7
- 7 a.m. – Noon. – Alternating, single lane closures on I-95 southbound local lanes bridge
Drivers are encouraged to check 511Virginia for real-time traffic conditions before they leave for their destination.
