DAYTIME PAVING WORK TO CLOSE I-95 NORTHBOUND REST AREA AT LADYSMITH ON MONDAY, OCT. 2 AND THURSDAY, OCT. 5
Resurfacing of the on- and off-ramps will close the rest area in Caroline County from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for two days
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The I-95 Northbound Ladysmith Safety Rest Area and Welcome Center in Caroline County will close during daytime hours on Monday, Oct. 2, and Thursday, Oct. 5, for milling and paving of the on- and off-ramps.
On these dates, the Safety Rest Area and Welcome Center will be closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The facility will reopen for use during overnight hours.
The temporary closure is required for two days so crews can safely maneuver equipment and materials along the on- and off-ramps to resurface them and smooth the travel surface.
Additional resurfacing work will be underway at this rest area between Monday, Oct. 2, and Tuesday, Oct. 10, but the rest area will remain open at all other times. Parking spaces will be temporarily reduced at times while this maintenance work is underway. Signs will guide travelers to open parking areas at the rest area.
The I-95 Northbound Ladysmith Rest Area and Welcome Center is located at mile marker 108, north of exit 104 (Carmel Church).
Message boards along I-95 northbound in advance of the rest area will alert travelers to the upcoming closure dates and times, and to reduced parking.
