EXPECT DELAYS NEXT WEEK ON ROUTE 1 AT FALMOUTH BRIDGE
Routine bridge inspection will be underway with single lane closure over the Rappahannock River on Monday, Oct. 2 through Friday, Oct. 6

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Travelers in the Fredericksburg area can expect brief daytime delays next week on Route 1 at the Falmouth Bridge over the Rappahannock River due to a routine bridge inspection.

The inspection will be underway on Monday, Oct. 2 through Friday, Oct. 6, weather permitting.

The Falmouth Bridge carries Route 1 over the Rappahannock River between the City of Fredericksburg and Stafford County.

Details include:

Monday, Oct. 2 through Friday, Oct. 6

Route 1 northbound and southbound at Falmouth Bridge

9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Single lane closure. Crews will alternate between working in the northbound and the southbound right lane.
