I-95 NORTHBOUND CLOSED IN SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY
All northbound lanes closed for a crash north of exit 118 (Thornburg) at mile marker 125, near Route 17 (Mills Drive) overpass

UPDATE (11:02 a.m.) Interstate 95 northbound has reopened in Spotsylvania County at the scene of an earlier tractor-trailer crash. The left and center northbound lanes are now open at mile marker 125. The right northbound lane remains closed.

UPDATE (10:25 a.m.) All traffic on I-95 northbound is being directed to detour at exit 118 (Thornburg) in Spotsylvania County. Traffic signal timing has been adjusted to accommodate heavy traffic, but travelers can expect delays and heavy congestion in the Thornburg area along Route 606 (Mudd Tavern Road), and along Route 1 northbound in Spotsylvania. 

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Interstate 95 northbound is closed north of exit 118 (Thornburg) in Spotsylvania County for a tractor-trailer crash.

Several miles of I-95 northbound congestion exist approaching the crash scene, which is located at mile marker 125, near the Route 17 (Mills Drive) overpass.

I-95 northbound through travelers are encouraged to seek alternate routes to avoid delays, including using I-95 exit 118 (Thornburg) to Route 1 northbound.

Northbound through travelers with destinations beyond the Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C., regions may consider taking I-95 northbound exit 104 (Carmel Church) in Caroline County to Route 207 eastbound to Route 301 northbound.
