PUBLIC MEETING ON PROPOSED ROUTE 17 BUSINESS SAFETY IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS IN GLOUCESTER COUNTY
Join us from 5 – 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27 at Gloucester County Public Library Main Street Branch to learn more about projects to modify access at two intersections

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The public is invited to learn more about proposed projects to modify two intersections on Route 17 Business (Main Street) in Gloucester County to improve safety. 

The proposed projects will modify the intersections of Route 17 Business at Route 628 (T.C.Walker Road) and Route 17 Business at Route 1018 (Sutton Road). 

The projects seek to reduce the risk of crashes at the intersections by modifying access and increasing motorist sight distance. 

An in-person design public hearing will be held:

*In case a backup meeting date is needed, the hearing will be rescheduled for July 6, 2023 at the same time and location. 

Stop by the public hearing anytime between 5 – 7 p.m. to review proposed design plans, materials and discuss your questions with Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) staff.

The meeting will be held in an open house format and no formal presentation will be given.  

The public can view materials and submit comments using an online survey at https://publicinput.com/Rt17BusSafetyImprovements.

Written and online comments on the project will be accepted through July 7, 2023.

Give your written comments at the meeting or mail them to Mr. Elyas Jalalzai, Project Manager, Virginia Department of Transportation, 87 Deacon Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22405.
