FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The public is invited to learn more about the Route 621 (Ware House Road) shared use path feasibility study in Gloucester County. 

The purpose of the study is to evaluate the potential to build a shared use path for pedestrians and bicyclists along Ware House Road from Route 17 Business (Main Street) to Ware House Landing boat ramp at the Ware River. 

The planning study would determine the feasibility and preferred alignment of an approximately two-mile proposed path, and costs associated to build a bicycle and pedestrian facility separate from the roadway, which would connect historic Main Street (Gloucester Village) to neighborhoods and recreation on Ware House Road. 

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is administering the feasibility study with Gloucester County.

Stop by the public hearing anytime between 5 – 7 p.m. to review study materials, preliminary design displays and discuss questions with staff.

Written and online comments on the project will be accepted through July 28, 2023.
