ROUTE 690 BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECT COMPLETED AHEAD OF SCHEDULE IN ISLE OF WIGHT COUNTY
Ennis Mill Road open to traffic as of Sept. 9
ISLE OF WIGHT COUNTY – As of Sept. 9, Route 690 (Ennis Mill Road) is open to traffic following the early completion of a bridge replacement project over Lake Prince/Ennis Pond.
Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) contractor crews replaced the existing bridge with a pre-stressed concrete box beam bridge with permanent sheet pile walls widened to 23-feet and lengthened to 59-feet, and completed roadway widening to match the bridge approaches in both directions.
Bryant Structures, Inc. began construction on the $1.7 million project in December 2021 and was originally scheduled to be completed in October 2022.
