ALL LANES REOPEN ON ROUTE 258 (SMITHS FERRY ROAD) BRIDGE OVER NOTTOWAY RIVER FOLLOWING BRIDGE REPAIRS
SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY– As of June 15, all lanes of Route 258 (Smiths Ferry Road) over the Nottoway River are open to traffic following the completion of bridge repair work by Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) contractor crews.
Repairs to the railing of the bridge, located north of Route 686 (Riverdale Drive) and approximately 2 miles from the North Carolina state line, were completed ahead of schedule. A single-lane closure, which had been in place since June 5, has been lifted at this location.
