LOCATION AND DESIGN PUBLIC HEARING TO BE HELD ON PROPOSED PLANS FOR I-64/I-464 INTERCHANGE RAMP IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT IN CHESAPEAKE
Public invited to attend to learn about plans to update the interchange
CHESAPEAKE – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold a location and design public hearing in-person May 23, 2023, to share information and receive feedback on the proposed location and design plans to improve the I-64/I-464 interchange and provide a direct connection between I-64 east to Route 168 (Chesapeake Expressway) south via I-464 south.
The proposed project includes widening I-64 east at exit 291A to accommodate two lanes of travel, constructing a new ramp to Route 168 (Chesapeake Expressway) south and reconfiguring the ramp to I-464 north. The purpose of the meeting is to give citizens an opportunity to review the project exhibits on display, meet with VDOT representatives and provide input. The public hearing will be an open-house format meeting with no formal presentation. Media are invited to attend.

Comments from the public regarding the proposed project may be submitted during the meeting or via email by June 2, 2023, to Erin.Foley@VDOT.Virginia.gov. Please reference “I-64/I-464 Interchange Ramp Improvements Project” in the subject line. Written comments may also be submitted by mail addressed to Erin Foley, P.E, Project Manager, Virginia Department of Transportation, 7511 Burbage Drive, Suffolk, VA 23435.
In case of inclement weather, the public hearing back-up date is May 30 from 4-7 p.m. at the same location.
