LANE CLOSURES SCHEDULED ALONG BREWERS NECK BOULEVARD AND BENNS CHURCH ROAD FOR PAVING IN ISLE OF WIGHT COUNTY
Overnight, single-lane closures begin as early as July 9
ISLE OF WIGHT COUNTY - As early as July 9, contractor crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will implement overnight, single-lane closures along portions of Brewers Neck Boulevard (Route 258/32), Benns Church Road (Route 258/10) and South Church Street (Route 258 Business/10) in Isle of Wight County for milling and paving.
The work will take place in consecutive sections beginning at the intersection of Brewers Neck Boulevard (Route 258/32) and Carrolton Boulevard (Route 17) and headed toward and onto Benns Church Road (Route 258/10), finishing on South Church Street (Route 258 Business/10).
Alternating, single-lane closures will be in effect in the following locations beginning as early as 9 p.m. to as late as 5 a.m. the following morning:
- Brewers Neck Boulevard (Route 258/32) west between Carrolton Boulevard (Route 17) and Benns Church Road (Route 258/10)
- Benns Church Road (Route 258/10) west from Brewers Neck Boulevard (Route 258/32) to South Church Street (Route 258 Business/10)
- South Church Street (Route 258 Business/10) from Benns Church Road (Route 258/10) to just west of Battery Park Road (Route 704), in both directions.
At times, traffic at intersections within the project limits may be under the direction of flaggers on site. Motorists should pay attention to directions from uniformed flaggers within the work zone at all times.
The paving operations are anticipated to be completed this summer. This work is weather-dependent, and the schedule is subject to change. Access to properties and businesses will be maintained at all times.
