OVERNIGHT CLOSURE SCHEDULED ON DENBIGH BOULEVARD BRIDGE OVER I-64
Overnight closure and signed detour via Bland Boulevard scheduled for May 15, weather and schedule permitting
NEWPORT NEWS – Starting as early as May 15, contractor crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) are scheduled to implement an overnight, full road closure for the bridge replacement project on Denbigh Boulevard over Interstate 64 in Newport News, with a signed detour in place.
To perform final pavement markings and setup of temporary traffic control devices, crews will close Denbigh Boulevard in both directions between Pocahontas Drive and Millwood Drive from as early as 7 p.m. on May 15 until as late as 6 a.m. on May 16. A signed detour will be in place directing motorists traveling along Warwick Boulevard and Jefferson Avenue to use Bland Boulevard as an alternate route during the road closure.
This construction work is weather- and schedule-dependent; therefore, this schedule is subject to change.
