VDOT CREWS PERFORMING ELECTRICAL REPAIRS AT MONITOR-MERRIMAC MEMORIAL BRIDGE-TUNNEL
Motorists should anticipate intermittent power outages at the facility as repairs are underway
NEWPORT NEWS/SUFFOLK — Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) crews are performing electrical repairs at the Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel (MMMBT), which are temporarily affecting some cameras, overhead signage, signals and lighting along both the north and south trestles of the MMMBT on Interstate 664.
Intermittent power outages are possible in parts of the facility as repairs are underway. Motorists are asked to use caution when traveling through the area.
VDOT expects a temporary solution to be in place as early as this week, while a more permanent repair is underway.
