ONE LANE OF BUSINESS 29 SOUTH IN MADISON HEIGHTS REMAINS CLOSED
LYNCHBURG, Va. –One lane of U.S. 29 Business south, near Lakeview Drive in Madison Heights, Amherst County remains closed following an incident involving a gas line earlier today. The closure is expected to remain in place until tomorrow as repairs are made.
A gas line was cut by a contractor on an improvement project in the area. All lanes of U.S. 29 Business were initially closed to traffic. As of 2 pm, the right lane and right shoulder southbound are closed between Mays Street/Seminole Drive and Lakeview Drive. Signs and other devices alert motorists to this closure.
Motorists are urged to use caution, avoid distractions and to slow down in this and any highway work zone.
