Section of Route 856 in Pittsylvania County to close from 8/14-approximately 10/6
Due to bridge repairs
LYNCHBURG – Motorists should expect delays due to a bridge replacement on Route 856 (Cobbs Knob Rd.) in Pittsylvania County. Route 856 (Cobbs Knob Road) will be temporarily closed to through traffic from Route 622 (Cascade Road) to the intersection of Route 907 (Gerlene Lane). This closure will run from 08/14/2023 to approximately 10/06/2023.
The Department of Transportation will provide adequate signs for the closure and detour of this portion of Route 856 (Cobbs Knob Rd.) and will use Route 622 (Cascade Rd.) crossing into Henry County, to Route 610 (Axton Rd.) to Route 621 (Loblolly Dr.) crossing back into Pittsylvania County, then back to Route 856 (Cobbs Knob Rd).
