Lane Striping Work on I-66 East and West Between Gainesville and I-495 Next Week

FAIRFAX – Lane striping operations will occur next week throughout the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project corridor between Route 29 in Gainesville and I-495. Lane markings will be repainted with a thermoplastic paint for increased reflectivity. Work will occur from Sunday, Sept. 8, through Saturday, Sept. 14, with rolling multi-lane closures between 9:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. Drivers should plan for possible delays.

Restriping will occur throughout the project area with the exception of areas on I-66 West between Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) and Route 29 in Gainesville that have recently been repainted and where active lane shifts are pending or in place for construction near the Vienna and Dunn Loring Metrorail stations. Restriping between Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) and Route 29 in Centreville will occur later this fall after upcoming paving operations.

All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
