Learn More about North Glebe Road over Pimmit Run Bridge Rehabilitation
Join us at a public information meeting August 13 at Williamsburg Middle School


ARLINGTON – The Virginia Department of Transportation invites residents to a public information meeting Tuesday, August 13 on plans to rehabilitate the North Glebe Road (Route 120) bridge over Pimmit Run to improve safety for drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians, and extend the overall life of the bridge. The bridge was built in 1973.

Planned improvements include:

  • Repairing and resurfacing the bridge deck
  • Repairing, waterproofing and providing corrosion protection to abutments and piers
  • Repairing, cleaning and painting beams
  • Replacing railings along bicycle and pedestrian connection to trails
  • Upgrading guardrails and drainage         

The project is financed with state and federal State of Good Repair funds used for maintenance of structures and bridges.

Stop by between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. at Williamsburg Middle School, 3600 North Harrison Street, Arlington, VA 22207 to view displays and learn more about the project and its preliminary design. VDOT staff will be available to answer questions. A presentation will begin at 7 p.m.
