Overnight Ramp Closures On I-66 Next Week At Route 50, 123, And I-495 Interchanges
UPDATE: The Route 50 West to I-66 West ramp closure has been rescheduled for Thursday, March 21
FAIRFAX, Va. - Closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours on Monday, March 18, and Tuesday, March 19, on the ramp from Route 50 West to I-66 West. On Tuesday, March 19, the ramp from I-66 East to the northbound and southbound I-495 Express Lanes will also be closed overnight. Drivers should expect overnight closures as well on Friday, March 22, on the ramp from Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) South to I-66 West. Closures are needed for construction activities for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project. Details include:
Monday, March 18, and Tuesday, March 19: Ramp from Route 50 West to I-66 West
- The ramp from Route 50 West to I-66 West will be closed during the overnight hours of Monday, March 18 and Tuesday, March 19, between midnight and 4 a.m. Traffic will be detoured farther west to Route 608 (West Ox Road) South, then directed to stay to the right for Route 50 East, then follow signs to I-66 West.
Tuesday, March 19: Ramp from I-66 East to I-495 Express Lanes North and South
- The ramp from I-66 East to the northbound and southbound I-495 Express Lanes will be closed during the overnight hours of Tuesday, March 19, between midnight and 4 a.m. Traffic will be directed to use the northbound and southbound I-495 general purpose lanes.
Friday, March 22: Ramp from Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) South to I-66 West
- The ramp from Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) South to I-66 West will be closed during the overnight hours of Friday, March 22, from midnight to 4 a.m. Traffic will be detoured farther south to the I-66 East ramp, stay to the right for Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) North, and then follow signs to I-66 West.
All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
