Traffic Pattern Changes Planned For Compton Road Under I-66 Starting On Or About April 29

FAIRFAX, Va. – Compton Road will be reduced to one lane under I-66 on or about April 29 for construction to widen the I-66 bridge over Compton Road. Traffic under the bridge will be controlled by a temporary traffic signal. During construction, posted travel speeds on Compton Road under I-66 will be reduced to 25 mph to accommodate the single traffic lane. This new, temporary traffic pattern on Compton Road will remain in place for approximately six months.

Drivers are advised to use caution and expect potential travel delays.

All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.

The work is part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway project. The I-66 Outside the Beltway Express Lanes are expected to open in December 2022.
